1. Information We Collect

ShareDoc is designed as a lightweight, privacy-focused online developer workspace and document editor. We do not require user registration or account creation to use our services.

  • Document Data & Snippets: When you create, edit, or format JSON, XML, YAML, CSV, Excel, or Text documents, the content is processed in your browser and temporarily stored on our encrypted real-time sync servers to facilitate live multi-user collaboration and shareable links.
  • Log Files & Technical Usage: Like most web servers, ShareDoc logs standard internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamps, and page interaction metrics to administer the site, prevent abuse, and optimize performance.

2. Temporary 15-Day Data Lifecycle

To prevent stale data accumulation and guarantee privacy, all collaborative documents and mock API configurations created on ShareDoc are assigned an automatic 15-day lifespan. Documents that experience no update activity are automatically purged from our servers after this period.

3. Google AdSense & Advertising Policies

ShareDoc partners with Google AdSense to serve advertisements when you visit our website. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to our website or other websites on the Internet:

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to ShareDoc and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or through the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out page.
  • Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology in their respective advertisements and links that appear on ShareDoc, which are sent directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs.

4. Cookies and Web Beacons

ShareDoc uses essential browser local storage and session cookies to remember your editor preferences (such as light/dark mode, active tab, and formatting preferences). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

5. GDPR & CCPA Data Protection Rights

We are committed to ensuring you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights under regulations like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to erasure: You have the right to request the immediate deletion of any document or mock API endpoint generated on our servers.
  • Right to access: You have the right to request copies of your shared data.
  • Do Not Sell My Personal Information: ShareDoc does not sell personal consumer data.

6. Security of Your Data

All communications between your browser and ShareDoc are secured using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). Furthermore, ShareDoc provides client-side secret masking tools to help you sanitize sensitive API keys, passwords, and tokens before sharing.
